The les Chevaliers vinyard in the famous Burgundy town of Meursault produces rather cool and clear wines, which is of course a great advantage in a warm year like 2020. This excellent Village Meursault has a style that is nevertheless very elegant. 20% new oak ensures Xavier Monnot a noble wooden note, which supports the wine but does not dominate it. In taste it has a lot of grip and a great length. Everything fits! Can stay in the basement for a long time, but doesn't have to.
2020 was a year in which everything fell into place. Very high quality with a good quantity, top quality wherever you look. The Merusault Chevalièrs from Monnot still has a clear reduction staon, which is much appreciated today. On the palate it has a certain creaminess due to its extract, refreshed by a delicate acidity in the background. Remarkable length. You can drink it now after decanting, but it's even better not until 2025.
