Really a great wine with aging potential that is very rarely found on the Côte Chalonnais. This excellent vineyard was owned by the bishops of Chalon in the 16th century, and back then it was already known who should get the best wine. The high age of the vines of around 50 years gives the depth; this wine is aged for 16 months in one third of the new barriques. Our recommendation!
Decanter: "Much more structure and concentration than Les Perrières. Focused palate with firm, ripe tannins and crisp acidity – this needs a lot more time. Very clean on the palate and nose – dark-berry fruit and under-stated oak. A fine example of 1er Cru Mercurey which will age very well. 93/100"
