Thierry Mortet is a traditionalist among Burgundy winemakers, his wines are precise, delicate and seductive when they have reached the right maturity.
2019 is a powerful Burgundy vintage with a low yield, I love this year because of its density, winegrowers like Mortet didn't overdo it because of their classic orientation. not a top Gevrey with long storage potential.
Thierry Mortet's Gevrey-Chambertin comes from a 3.1 hectare plot with vines aged between 15 and 60 years. Of course, everything is read by hand and macerated at 13 to 14 degrees for 5 days. After fermentation, the aging takes place in new barriques, before bottling the wine is lightly filtered.
