The vines used for Esprit de Tablas come from seedlings from Chateau Beaucastel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, which were brought to Paso Robles in California and here from the same family be grown. Perrin's winemaking is beyond any doubt and you can tell that straight away with this great Rhônwe-style red wine from California. As with the Beaucastel, the Mourvedre vine plays the most important role in the Esprit de Tablas, plus the grape varieties Grenache, Syrah and some Counoise.
The Esprit de Tablas 2017 is a giant. A wine with substance, complexity and depth, with just the right tannin structure and a brilliant length in a balanced finish.
The wine magazines are accordingly impressed.
