The red Vieilles Vignes by the Domaine du Clos des Fées is made from grapes of the varieties Grenache Noir, LLadoner Pelut, Carignan and Syrah, whose vines are 50 to 100 years old . These have a low yield, but more concentration in the remaining few berries. The harvest is brought into the winery in refrigerated vehicles and fermented there slowly, at low temperature, which intensifies the fruitiness of the wines. One part is aged in barriques, the other one in steel tanks, in order to reduce the influence of the wood. The result is an intensive and aromatic red wine that has captured the sun of the South . It reaches the best drinking periode three years after the harvest and should be drunk after a maximum of 10 years.
