The Clos de l'Écu was completely acquired by François Faiveley in 2003. The house thus has another monopol vineyard, which is also one of the best in Beaune. It is matured in barriques, a third of which are new.
2017 was a stylistically classic year with unproblematic weather conditions. The harvest started early so that perfectly ripened grapes could be brought in. In the fragrance there are fresh notes of very pure red and black fruits. On the palate, this Pinot Noir is very elegant, with subtle fruit and ripe tannins. In the energetic finale, it shows a fine spice and a subtle note of mint. This wine has excellent aging potential, but thanks to its charming character it can also be enjoyed young and enjoyed.
