The 2020 Reserva from Marques de Murrieta impressed us with its great precision. The wine is crystal clear, the wine has an extremely high tannin quality, conveys freshness and depth in equal measure. There is no heat or overripeness to be felt here, pure drinking pleasure for the discerning, a great Reserva, in this form a role model for all Rioja estates. You can already drink this wine with great pleasure, but it will also develop positively in the bottle over many years. We are thrilled!
The high quality standards of Marques de Murrieta is also reflected in the fact that they only start marketing the Reserva, Joven or Crianza are not produced.
Tasting note Frank Rembold Oct. 2022 (vintage 2017): still seems young, nice woody note, opulent fruit, seems modern and has nothing to do with the austere style of the Murrietas from the 20th century. This continues on the palate, powerful, juicy, but never broad, has a lot of pull and always remains drinkable. Very fine!
