Tradition such as typical Rioja aromas and modernity in terms of a juicy body and a soft fullness are perfectly combined in this Rioja Crianza from Bodegas Amezola de la Mora. It consists of a common blend of Rioja grape varieties, 85% Tempranillo and the local varieties Mazuelo and Graciano. The soils here are clayey-calcareous and rocky, which all of these grape varieties like. The 2018 vintage was allowed to mature in French and American oak barrels for 15 months before it was bottled.
The Amézola siblings are masters of their craft, and you can tell that in the glass: bright red colour. Fine and elegant nose with notes of juicy blackberries and red berries and a well-integrated wood tone. Intense expression of fruit, balanced, opulent and long-lasting in the finish. It has now (2021) reached its first drinking phase and will remain in this optimal state at least until 2026 if stored properly. Very good!
The Amezola de la Mora Rioja Crianza goes particularly well with grilled and meat dishes, Spanish manchego cheese, pizza and pasta.
