The Tenute del Cabreo has vineyards in the Chianti Classico, but does not produce Chianti. The red wine Il Borgo consists of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, which grows in Greve, and there are also vineyards in Panzano planted with Charonnay and Pinot Nero. The Cabreo Il Borgo (formerly Tenimentini Ruffino) has become known as a strong and very long-lasting Supertuscan. Today, thanks to the influence of Giovanni Folonari, it has become a bit rounder and does not need quite as much bottle maturity to show its full potential. 2016 is one of the greatest vintages of all time in the Chianti area.
