Château Chasse-Spleen has been the top dog in Moulis for decades. Even if other wineries have recently caught up in terms of quality, it remains the classic of this AOC. As early as 1932 the estate was classified as a Cru Bourgeois exceptionnel; if it had already existed when the Medocs classification in 1855 was made, a Cru Classé rank would presumably have been achieved. Chasse-Spleen ripens excellently and is not inferior to a Cru Classé in this respect either.
2018 is one of the greatest Bordeaux vintages in history, with very concentrated and smooth wines. Do not miss this beauty.
