The 2016 Bolgheri rosso by Tenuta Le Colonne stands out with its high proportion of 60% Cabernet Franc from the common assemblages of Tuscany. The wine is spontaneously fermented in concrete vats, ie without the addition of fermented yeast. It is matured in 500L barrels and large wooden barrels, where it was aged 12 months before bottling. The wine offers aromatic dark berries and black cherry, as well as a subtle hint of vanilla. Intense and full of body, the ripe tannins are perfectly matched to the wine. A beautiful and sophisticated Bolgheri wine, at a fair price.
