The red Patelin from Tablas Creek Vineyard is a blend of the four common Rhône grape varieties: Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Counoise. The high proportion of Syrah is reflected in the spiciness and power, plus the plump fullness of the Grenache and the color and power of the Mourvedre. You can drink this wine very well young, but it also matures splendidly for a good decade and becomes more and more complex aromatically during this time.
The Patelin de Tablas 2015 has reached its best drinking phase, it shows the first aromas of maturity, but is still far from old. Dark berries such as blackberries, some menthol and saddle leather can be found in its scent. On the palate it still has a bit of tannin, is well balanced, the alcohol is covered with the extract and is therefore well integrated. That's a lot of fun.
