Saint-Joseph is the rising star among the appellations on the northern Rhône. Like its neighbors Hermitage, red wine is made from Syrah and white wine from Roussanne and Marsanne, cultivated mostly in terraced stepped slopes. The Guy Farge Terroir de Granit is produced from 70-year-old methusalem vines of the Syrah variety, which grow on terraces with granite soils.
The vintage 2015 is equipped with a wide open bouquet, wonderful spicey notes, a basket of red berries, Szechuan pepper and cassis. On the palate it is concentrated and fullbodied, but also cool and clear, fairly powerful, with fine tannins in the long-lasting final. A wonderful Syrah with ageing potential.
