Il Castagno is Fabrizio Dionisio's flagship wine. Of course, almost everything is handmade here, and this wine is only fermented with its natural yeasts and aged for 15 months in French barriques made from Allier, Nevers and Troncais oak. The style of this top wine is powerful but balanced, it has a firm tannin structure and a nice depth and complexity in the taste, you can find aromas of chocolate, pepper and dark berries, as well as a little herbs and tea. A noble red that hardly has to hide from any Syrah in the world.
