Quinta das Marias produces an exciting wine from the rarely mentioned grape variety Alfrochiero, which is known for its freshness and good acidity, important properties in warm growing areas such as the Dao. It is therefore contained in many wines, but it is very rare to find it as a single-variety wine. It is aged in used barriques for 12 months, which gives it its balance and flavor. There are only a little more tahn 1000 bottles of this rarity per vintage.
