The l’Extreme comes from a steep slope with a slate floor in the Vallée de l’Agly in Roussillon in the south of France. 75% Lladoner Pelut (a Grenache variety) and 25% Syrah from biodynamic cultivation are fermented and matured in new 500L barrels. The wine ferments spontaneously and is bottled without filtration. There are only around 2500 bottles of this top cuvée per year. You can find aromas such as ripe dark berries, cinnamon, clove and vanilla in the fragrance. On the palate it is very full-bodied, the tannins are supple, the finale is very harmonious at a very high level and very long-lasting. An impressive wine.
