The Esprit de Tablas is a transplant of the Chateauneuf-du-Pape from Chateau Beaucastel to Paso Robles/California. The vines from which Esprit is made are seedlings derived from the original Beaucastel vines. As with its role model, the Mourvedre vine is dominant here, along with Grenache, Syrah and some Counoise. One of the best Rhône cuvées worldwide.
The Esprit de Tablas 2014 is a giant. A wine with power, complexity and depth, just the right tannin structure and a great length in the finish. It has now reached its perfect drinking maturity, which it will effortlessly keep for another 10 years. Great class!
