The 2013 Borgogno from the Fossati vineyard has the typical orange-red color of traditionally made Baroli. An open nose with chocolate and a hint of mint. Substantial, high density, the abundant tannins are well buffered, long finish. The wine has reached its first drinking period, not least thanks to the good extract, which gives the wine a charming palate impression. Borgogno himself says: "The well-structured and long-lasting wines will make 2013 an excellent vintage."
The Fossati vineyard has been bottled separately since 2008. The wine is fermented spontaneously and stored in large traditional oak barrels for four years before being allowed to be bottled.
