Colheita is the name for a Tawny port, made with grapes of one single vintage. A Colheita port is at least stored 7 years in small barrels (pipes) before it is bottled, but the ageing in barrels can also last several decades. When a Colheita is bottled, it is ready to drink, no further storage in the bottle is necessary.
The Feuerheerd Colheita ports are made the usual manner from the varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca and Tinto Cão.
It is best to enjoy it with fine desserts or Roquefort or Stilton, nuts or a good cigar.
