In 1787 the first regulations for the production of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano were issued. The Zingarelli family from Rocca delle Macie remembers this with the title of their Vino Nobile.

Stylistically, this Tuscan red wine classic from Rocca delle Macie also has modern touches; the 10% Merlot in the blend rounds off the 90% Sangiovese and gives the wine a juicy fullness on the palate. When it comes to aging, however, the process is very traditional; the wine is stored in large wooden barrels for a full two years before it is bottled. This Vino Nobile is then allowed to recover from this procedure for another three months in the bottle before it is released for sale.

The 1787 Vino Nobile has a bright ruby red color. Its delicate scent is reminiscent of ripe red berries, cherries, spicy notes and some cocoa. On the palate it is powerful and supple at the same time, the aromas of the fragrance are reflected in the long-lasting finish. Prepared with a lot of skill and sensitivity.
