The Vermentino or Vermentinu, as it is written in Corsica, is a white grape variety that is widespread in the Mediterranean region. It is also known from Corsica's neighboring island of Sardinia, where it is very popular.
Vermentinu plays a key role in the white wines from Clos Venturi, and 100% in the 1769 Blanc. 1769 marked a turning point for Corsica, since that year Corsica has been part of France.
In the cool style of the only Clos Venturi winery located in the Kosrian mountains, the scent of this wine is characterized by cool aromas and mineral freshness. Its aromas are reminiscent of white fruits such as pear, citrus and floral notes. On the palate it has a lot of tension and tension, is lively and stimulating. You would never expect a wine like this to be produced in a Mediterranean region.
The 1769 Blanc is aged in steel tanks on the fine yeast for six months. The subtle fruit should be in the foreground here. Nevertheless, it can easily be stored for 2-3 years without losing quality.
