Why not turn the popular Lugana into a high-quality sparkling wine using the bottle fermentation process? That's what Zenato thought - and it worked splendidly.
The Lugana Metodo Classico Brut is a real asset, both in the world of sparkling wines and as a variant of the white wine Lugana. This Spumante by Zenato is made from 100% Terrbiano di Lugana grapes that grow between Peschiera and Desenzano, at the southern end of Lake Garda. The vines growing on clay soil have a remarkably high average age of around 40 years. An important factor for later substance in the wine.
The must is fermented with natural yeasts in steel tanks and then bottled for the second fermentation into sparkling wine and provided with sparkling wine yeast. It remains there for 24 months until it is ready for sale with the dosage.
The pearls of the Zenato Lugana Brut rise up fine in the straw yellow color of this Italian sparkling wine. The scent is reminiscent of brioche, white fruits such as apples and pears, some citrus fruits and white flowers. It is balanced and quite full on the palate, the subtle acidity provides the necessary freshness. Lugana can do foam too!
Serve the Zenato Lugana Methodo Classico best as an aperitif, with antipasti or fish dishes. If you like, you can also let it accompany entire menus.
