Cantina Raina is a rather young and small winery in Umbria, founded in 2002 and about 10 hectares of vines are cultivated. Owner Francesco Mariani is a studied philosopher, he is by his friend and colleague Andrea Mattioli to produce excellent wines in biodynamic cultivation. Everything here is well thought out and designed to protect the environment, 70% of the electricity demand is generated with solar cells, the rest of the demand comes from external renewable energy sources.
The press quickly became aware of this innovative winery:
