Mas Llunes is a winery in the D.O. Empordà in the Spanish part of Catalonia. It begins practically directly on the border with France and is the geographical continuation of the Roussillon. Therefore, the same grape varieties are common here as on the other side of the border, or in the entire Mediterranean region.
The ancestors of the Roig family have been cultivating the land of Mal Llunes since 1331. Due to this centuries-old tradition, they have specialized in local vines. These have been grown organically for several years, and ecological islands with ponds have been created in the middle of the vineyards to promote biodiversity and provide a habitat for birds and bats.
The current Mas Llunes winery was founded in 2000 and is now managed by Antoni Roig Castella. The family's care and skill can be tasted in every glass of Mas Llunes. Mediterranean wines with charming fullness that perfectly convey the character of each grape variety and its terroir.
Each Mas Llunes series is also characterized by an excellent price-enjoyment ratio.
