The Tenuta Il Poggione produces great Brunello classics with their traditionally made and very long lived wines. Top ratings from many international wine critics underpin this impressively, Hugh Johnson calls the estate "... perhaps the most consistent winery for Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino". The Brunello practically always got between 94-98 / 100 points in Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.
All of the success is largely due to the smart director Fabrizio Bindocci, who has been managing the estate for decades and has meanwhile even been elected president of the Brunello di Montalcino consortium.
The entire Il Poggione collection shows no weaknesses, that is wine making at its best, tradition paired with current know-how. The top wines have a ageing potential like only a few wines in Italy.
