Bousquet, Domaine - Argentinien

The Domaine Bousquet is a young and innovative winery in Argentina, with French roots. While on vacation, Jean Bousquet, a winemaker from Carcassonne, southern France, discovered the Gualtalary Valley in Mendoza, Argentina. Jean Bousquet recognized the opportunity to fulfill his dream of a completely organic winery. He sold all property in France and emigrated with his family to Argentina.

Today his son Guillaume and his daughter Anne manage the estate with their husband Labid al Ameri. The style of the wines is due to the extreme altitude very elegant and fresh, the locals thought the region initially even too cold to grow high quality wine. They were wrong.

Anne's credo is: "we only want to produce high-quality wines that everyone can afford". Everything is designed for sustainability , of course they do not use chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides as a bio-winery. In addition, due to the water shortage, an elaborate system for water treatment has been installed and they produce the entire energy supply of the winery with solar power.

"Being organic was never a sales gag. Responsibility for the land is a necessity: the land was untouched when we arrived, and we did not want to spoil it," Anne said.
