Somontano is located in northeastern Spain, the name derives from "at the foot of the mountain", which means the Pyrenees. For the white wines of the DO Somontano, the grape varieties Macabeo, Garnacha blanca, Alcanon, Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer are allowed. Thanks to dedicated producers such as Enate, the Somontano region has managed to build its own profile and stands out from the mass of Spanish DOs.
