Umbria

In contrast to neighboring and climatically similar Tuscany, Umbria has a significant white wine production, 2/3 of all DOC wines belong to the well-known Orvieto. In addition, there are even more powerful types of white wines, mostly from Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc, often aaged in barriques.
