Basilicata

The Basilicata is located in southern Italy, between the Apulia regions in the east and Campania in the west. 11,000 hectares of vines are planted here, usually very fragmented in minute parcels. The main red grape variety is the Aglianico del Vulture , the local white vines are Bombino Bianco, Fiano, Greco and Malvasia. Due to the high altitude of many vineyards, the Basilicata wines can be of fresh structure despite their southern origin. They are very exciting in price.
