Mosel, Saar, Ruwer white wines

With its steep slopes, the Moselle, with its tributaries Saar and Ruwer, is the most spectacular of all wine-growing regions in Germany. In this "cool climate" region, over 90% white wine thrives, of which Riesling plays by far the most important role. The Moselle Riesling achieved worldwide fame with its residual sweet and noble sweet wines, which have a unique balance between sweetness and acidity and are extremely long lived. In the last few decades, however, remarkable dry wines have also emerged, which are among the international Riesling top wines. The Burgundy varieties are also gaining a foothold, which further increases the diversity of this wonderful growing area. In addition to the most expensive wines in Germany, the Moselle also offers a large selection of very fairly priced wines from smaller and (still) less well-known wineries, which we would like to recommend to you.
