The Susumaniello grape variety is becoming increasingly popular in Puglia. In terms of taste, it is not dissimilar to the typical Apulian vines such as Primitivo, but sometimes also reminds of Sangiovese, as its structure is more pronounced.
The Contessa Marina Susumaniello has a dark color and aromas of ripe red berries and violets, it has a lot of body and a good structure that balances the high maturity well. It does not need to be stored and can be drunk young with great pleasure, but it also keeps for a few years in the bottle.
Gold medal AWC Vienna (2018 vintage).
