A brand new label from Steenberg! The Five Lives refer to the five chapters in the life of Catharina Ras, which Steenberg founded in 1682 . This red wine is therefore available with 5 different back labels that tell the story of the brave lady's life. Oh yes, and a storage period of up to five years is also recommended. Enough of the fives, what's actually in it and how does it taste?
The grape varieties are Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, a so-called Bordeaux blend. This is where the typical aromas of these vines come from, such as plum (Merlot) and cassis (Cabernet Sauvignon). You can also discover aromas such as cinnamon, dried tomatoes, tobacco leaves and cherries. On the palate, the Merlot provides smooth fullness and the Cabernet provides aroma and structure. This combination has proven itself all over the world. Meat and game dishes go very well with this red South African, as do pizza and pasta dishes. It actually gets along with a lot of food, so it's a real all-rounder. With its round nature, it meets the taste of many people, so it is also ideal for larger celebrations.
