The youngest vines of the Bodegas Roda are destined for the SELA. At 15-30 years old, they are no longer really young either, rather not quite as old as many others in the winery.

The Sela style is a little fruitier than Roda and Roda I, but still unmistakably from the RODA house. Here, too, barriques were used, in which the wine spends twelve months, and the density and intensity of the fruit play a major role. The Roda Sela is ready to drink when it comes on the market. It does not need a long aging period in the bottle, but it can be stored for a number of years and develop positively in the bottle.

The Sela 2020 by Roda has a bright red color with a dark core. The fruity scent is reminiscent of red berries, cherries and herbs, the wood is present, but very much in the background. The fruitiness continues on the palate, the wine has a good fullness and ripe tannins, everything is in the best balance, the cherry note with herbal spice shows up again in the long-lasting finish. Despite its fullness, it is always fresh and makes you want another glass. Skillful wine making!

Serve it best with tapas, red meat, lamb, game and grilled dishes.

In Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Luis Guiterrez writes about the 2020 Sela: "I also tasted the very young 2020 Sela, an aromatic and velvety red with enough spice to balance the fruit and make it very attractive. It has some dusty tannins that should not be noticeable if you drink it with food.91/100."
