Schloss Vollrads is one of the largest traditional wineries in the Rheingau. As early as 1211, the Greiffenclau family was mentioned as a wine supplier to the St. Viktorstift in Mainz. That is over 800 years of wine tradition! This gem of the Rheingau wine culture is located in Oestrich-Winkel and is entirely dedicated to the Riesling grape variety, which makes up 100% of the 63 hectares of vineyards here. Schloss Vollrads has been organically certified since the 2022 vintage, making it the largest organic winery in Hesse.
Schloss Vollrads has been impeccable in terms of quality for many years. The wines are excellently prepared and very typical representatives of the Rheingau Riesling style, as this impressive Gutsriesling from the very good 2022 vintage shows. The nose pleases with aromas such as apple, grapefruit and peach. On the palate it shows a beautiful clarity and minerality, is fresh, aromatic and well balanced. In addition, it is very stimulating, you quickly want another sip of this delicious dry Gutsriesling.
