The Sauvignon Blanc by Franz Haas is one of the best wines of this variety in northern Italy. It grows on weathered rock soils at an altitude of between 400 and 800 meters, which emphasizes the elegance and leads to a distinctly cool varietal aroma. It is partially fermented in barriques, where it then ages on the fine lees for eight months before it is bottled. There are between 7,000 and 10,000 bottles of this wine per year.

Stylistically, it is a full-bodied and at the same time aromatic Sauvignon, which, in addition to its typical grape variety scent, also has a touch of white Bordeaux due to the use of wood. The aromas of the Franz Haas Sauvignon are reminiscent of elderflower, peach, vanilla and oriental spices. On the palate, the mature acidity marbles the body, resulting in a highly attractive mixture of fullness and elegance, which ends in a long finish with best balance.

Serve this wonderful wine with sushi, mushroom pasta, sea fish or white meat. It can also be combined well with oriental dishes due to a certain similarity in the aromas.

The Falstaff magazine awards a euphoric 94/100 for the 2020 vintage and writes: "Intense straw yellow, with bright golden reflections, complex and inviting nose, of golden apple, yellow peach, yellow Mango, in the aftertaste of meadow flowers and wet stone. Balanced on the palate, with fine creaminess, stretches elegantly over the palate, powerful and crispy in the finish."
