The 15 hectares of vineyards are in the immediate vicinity of the Chateau de Fontaine-Audon. Here, in the northwest of the AOP Sancerre, is the typical flint soil (= Silex), which gives the wines the precise finish and those clear minerality that is appreciated by connoisseurs worldwide. The Sauvignon Blanc grape variety loves this rather cool terroir and rewards it with super-elegant wines that inspire with a beguiling gooseberry and currant aroma and are fresh and invigorating despite their depth.
The Silex has the typical Sauvignon blanc character of this region, but is never intrusive in terms of aroma, intensive grassy-green notes are not to be found here. Sauvignon Blanc with character & understatement. It has something and can also mature!
