The Domaine de Terres Blanches is owned by the Saget family, who have developed an excellent reputation for high-quality wines from Sancerre. The consulting oenologist here is Stéphane Derenoncourt, who normally works in Bordeaux, a luminary in his field who works for some of the best wineries in France. This know-how is immediately noticeable in the Sancerre Terres Blanches.

The winery has about 12 hectares Sauvignon Blanc in Sancerre, this is in the municipalities of Bué en Sancerre, as well as in Sancerre itself and in Amigny. The chalky white soil gave the estate its name. Mineral clarity and a squeaky clean varietal aroma is the focus of Saget's winemaking. After cool fermentation, the wine ages in tanks on the fine lees for six months.

The scent of this Sancerre is simply enchanting. The aromas are reminiscent of flowers, cassis and citrus fruits, the wine is straight as a line, but always balanced and supple. The long-lasting finale is full of the aroma of the Sauvignon Blanc grapes, harvested in the ideal state of ripeness.

Our food recommendations for this wonderful wine: crustaceans, seafood, fish and of course the famous Loire goat's cheese, the Crottin de Chavignol.

Stephan Reinhardt from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate rates the certainly weaker 2021 vintage with 90/100.
