San Leonardo's top wine is the best "Bordeaux-Blend" from Trentino. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Carmenere grow here in an alpine climate. The result is a complex and structured red wine blend that has the typical cool climate finesse and also has a very long storage potential, the winery itself states at least 30 years. This wine was first produced in 1982 and many of the old vintages are still a pleasure today.

After spontaneous fermentation in concrete tanks, the San Leonardo spends 24 months in new and used French barriques. The result is a wine that is rich in finesse and has a good grip, which is in fact reminiscent of its classic models from the Médoc/Bordeaux.

The San Leonardo 2017 has intensive notes of cassis, ripe blackberries and black cherries in the fragrance, as well as cocoa and vanilla. There are also fine herbal notes reminiscent of thyme and rosemary. Freshness and excitement are immediately present on the palate, the elegant tannins are perfectly integrated and give the wine strength and elegance. In the very long finish, it has an impressive train and a wonderful aromatic complexity. Before enjoying it, you should decant it for at least two hours, or let it rest in the cellar for a few more years. Impressive!
