The Viña Alberdi Reserva is a relatively new wine from the traditional bodega La Rioja Alta, it was first launched in 1978. At that time it replaced the Tercer Año. Rarely in Rioja is it a 100% Tempranillo, grown in the Las Monjas, Las Cuevas and El Palo vineyards
This aromatic, classic Rioja is aged for 24 months in barriques, which come from the winery's own cooperage, according to old tradition. The Alberdi is the entry-level wine into the exciting world of La Rioja Alta. Not only the quality should be emphasized here, but also the absolutely fair price.
The Guia Penin wine guide rates the 2016 with 92/100 points, high praise for this price range.
