A beautifully straightforward and clear Riesling by Jens Windisch from the Werther Windisch winery. Mommenheim has the highest vineyards in Rheinhessen, which is expressed in the cool and clear aroma of this wine. This dry Riesling was aged partly in steel tanks and partly in 1200 liter barrels. It has the noticeable but brilliant acidity of the rather cool 2021 vintage and a good extract as a balancing element. The aim is to produce a crystal-clear, fresh and drinking wine that makes you want to have the next glass. Riesling fans will love this style and the really fair price of this wine.

Sample note from Frank Rembold from August 2022 on the 2021 Riesling Gutswein Werther Windisch: the scent has citrus notes, apple and peach, as well as herbs, appears cool and clear and is clearly recognizable as a Riesling, with a touch too charming young wine fruit. Grippy, the distinctive 2021 vintage acidity does not hold back, good bite, quite long. puristic. Nice!

By the way, this wine is not only produced organically, but also vegan.

The 2020 vintage was named Riesling Champion 2021 in the Vinum magazine in category 1: dry Riesling
