Grossi Laüe is Alsatian and means Grand Cru. The Hugel Riesling with this name comes from the Grand Cru vineyard Schoenenbourg in Riquewihr and grows on marl soils and dolomitic Keuper with gypsum, which is thinly covered with gravel and shell limestone. Almost exclusively Riesling grows here. After selective hand picking and gentle processing without pumping, the must is fermented under temperature control and then placed in steel tanks and large traditional wooden barrels, where it strives towards its best maturity for bottling.

The Grossi Laüe wines only come onto the market when they have reached their best drinking phase, which is often only after 5-8 years. In this way, the consumer always has access to ready-to-drink great wines.

The 2013 vintage of the Riesling Grossi Laüe from Hugel has now reached this level of maturity and is a real treat. The year is considered to be rather cool and classic and has a grippy structure. The wine shows aromas such as baked apples, ripe peaches, Mirabelle plums, lemon balm and slightly nutty notes such as almonds or pistachios. It is well balanced on the palate, has a creamy melt and an impressive length on the palate. Very delicate. Can be stored further, but does not have to be.
