The Reiterpfad used to be one of the big growths at the A. Christmann winery. In the meantime it has been downgraded to first location, but of course it is still an excellent Riesling, which can certainly be classified at the top of all first locations.
The 0.9 hectare area of the Christmanns consists of the "Hofstück" plot (a LARGE GEWÄCHS location) and three other plots. The outstanding characteristics of the Reiterpfad are its fruitiness and opulence. Due to the relatively warm location, its Riesling fruit tends to turn yellow and is always present, and it doesn't need an eternity in the bottle to be a lot of fun.
The 2020 vintage had an extremely early harvest date in mid-September. The wine has the fullness typical of the vintage, a very good bite and an impressive length in the finish. You can drink it now (spring 2023), but it still has a few years to go if you can hold back your drinking.
