The Pommard les Vignots is an elevated village location. The plot of Xavier Monnot is planted with old vines, averaging around 50 years old. The high altitude brings elegance and finesse, the old vines strength and depth. There are also 30% new barriques, which ensures a fine flavor. 10% of the harvest is not destemmed to give the wine extra structure by pressing the stems. The result is a fine and long-lasting Pommard, which is always of exceptionally high quality for a non-1er Cru. It is also long lasting.
2018 was an excellent vintage in which, for once, both were right: quality and quantity. An enchanting wine that promises great drinking pleasure for many years and will certainly last.
