For several years, the Riesling specialist Maximin Grünhaus has also been offering Pinot varieties, such as the Pinot Blanc Gutswein. The grape variety is also known as Weissburgunder and is now popular in some Moselle wineries as a dry estate wine. This white wine grows on red slate in the upper part of the Herrenberg vineyard. It is matured in traditional fuders, which do not give the wine any oak flavor but provide a subtle structure and character.
The Maximin Grünhaus Pinot Blanc dry is characterized by its cool climate, a clear and fine Burgundy type with aromas such as apple, quince, pear and mirabelle plum, as well as subtle herbal spices, green tea and a hint of almonds. Freshness and a medium body make the wine very elegant and ensure a good drinking flow.
It is a universal food companion, try it with fish, vegetables, casseroles or tarte flambée.
