The Peppoli is from Antinori's Chianti Classico winery. Definitely a classic in the portfolio, this fine Sangiovese wine has been around since 1985. The 2020 was bottled in January 2022 after being aged in barriques and steel tanks.
The scent shows hints of red fruits such as currants and strawberries, also some cherries, plus a subtle lavender note of lavender and a hint of liquorice. On the palate it finds the balance between fruit charm and fine tannin structure, which leads to perfect harmony at a high level. Fits!
