Since the 2002 vintage there is a second red Koonunga Hill. A 100% Shiraz was bottled as a supplement under this immensely successful label. It quickly found its place in the Penfolds range.
It's a Shiraz blend from different vineyards in South Australia and has the same juicy style as its Shiraz/Cabernet counterpart. Ripe berries dominate the scent and taste, complemented by a spicy but not overpowering note of wood. Thanks to its ripe tannins, it has a great structure, the extract ensures length in the harmonious finale.
A treat that can do much more than it costs!
