As already mentioned elsewhere, the appreciation of the individual grape varieties in Alsace is sometimes weighted differently, such as in Germany. That is most certainly the case with the Muscat or Musketeller. If this variety is accepted as a maximum for light to medium-weight niche white wines on the right bank of the Rhine, it can even claim Grand Cru status in a top vineyard in Alsace. Well, the Muscat with its stunningly intense scent is not for everyone, but the fans, to whom we count ourselves, appreciate exactly this rather loud and polarizing appearance off the mainstream.
The Signature Muscat by Wolfberger has this stunning scent that is reminiscent of elderflower, lychee and fragrant table grapes. The style is dry with a delicate residual sweetness, yet very lively and well balanced. Overall, this Wine is more sumptuous and fruity than, for example, the bone-dry Styrian Muskateller, simply more hedonistic in style. An excellent aperitif or summer terrace wine, but should also go well with salads with fruit components, Asian-inspired dishes also go well. A great and individual wine style.
