The Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Terra d'Aligi from the Spinelli family is a small price-enjoyment miracle! For well under 10 € there is a very good substance here, the wine has ripe tannins and is very well balanced, without relying on the annoyingly high residual sweetness of many southern Italians, which robs the wines of their freshness.
The Montepulcianio Terra d'Aligi comes from perfectly ripened grapes from the Val di Sangro in Abruzzo, which mature after fermentation in large oak barrels. This fine red wine is reminiscent of ripe dark berries with a hint of violets and roses. On the palate it is full, with a good grip, the tannins are present in exactly the right dose. Overall, a medium-smooth red with character and a lot of style, excellently prepared. Our tip!
