The first class 2015 vintage resulted in a very special Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage. The grapes for this vintage champagne are harvested particularly late, and if everything goes well, as in 2015, they are fermented and bottled separately. In addition, there is a very long maturation period for the base wines and also long storage on the yeast in the bottle before it is disgorged. Altogether that's at least 7 years.

In 2015, the red grapes performed particularly well, giving Moet & Chandon plays into the cards. 44% of the final blend is Pinot Noir, plus 32% Chardonnay and 24% Pinot Meunier. Due to the excellent, mature harvest and the associated harmonious acidity, a dosage of just five grams per liter is enough. Nevertheless, the Grand Vintage is wonderfully harmonious, with a fine perlage and wonderful tones of nuts and brioche, which are so appreciated by lovers of Champagne. It has a light golden yellow color, the pearls are already visibly fine and as if pulled on a string. The fragrance reveals a variety of aromas with an autumnal touch, apples, pears, walnuts, honey and nougat, also dried flowers and of course an elegant note of yeast. The Moet Grand Vintage 2015 is perfectly balanced on the palate, the invigorating acidity blends perfectly into the body and extract, the finale is very long and well balanced.

Simon Field (Master of Wine) tasted this class champagne for Decanter magazine and gave it 94/100 points for the 2013 vintage. He writes: "Salmon copper in colour..., flint and matchstick; sour cherry, rhubarb, rosehip, pomegranate seeds; now it gets interesting; supporting the prolonged aging and the 5g/L dosage, wonderfully discreet; the fruit here is the Key and the finish is a work of art; phenolic bitterness and red fruit sweetness stand in a soothing counterpoint that can only predict great gastronomic potential. Excellent."
