The de Marne et d'Argile is named after the soil on which the approximately 50-year-old Chardonnay vines for this wine grow. Eric Thill does not develop it oxidatively, as a fresh Jura white wine type. Then again, the long storage time is typical of the Jura: the wine spends a full 16 months on the yeast in order to gain stability and structure from it.
